Impossible to cancel account
DirecTV has horrible customer service. They pass you off to someone else, and when you think the account has been cancelled and call back they say there are "no notes" and that the account was never cancelled. So they keep charging your credit card. This is fraud.

Call DirecTV and when you get the voice system say "cancel". That way you should be routed directly instead of waiting on a manual transfer from a front line agent (assuming the agent was transferrin you correctly).
Historically even if the agent didn't leave any notes (by accident or on purpose), the system would still capture a base reason for your call. From my understanding this is what it understands from the voice system, so a keyword such as "cancel" would be tracked that would be a backup of info. I would hope the new account system that was migrated to last year has the same function. So with calling back ask the retention agent, or possibly their supervisor, to double check.
