Is there a way to speak with a DIRECTV customer service agent or tech from the U.S.A.?
Ever since AT&T took over DIRECTV, all of their customer service operations (1-800-531-5000) have been moved to some Asian country overseas. I can tell because every time I have called this number, it has been answered by an Asian female with a thick accent. I can't understand what they are saying half the time. Every customer service and tech support experience I have had has been unsatisfactory so far. I found the technicians to be no more knowledgeable about the DVR's and other equipment than the customer service agents.
Is there a DIRECTV phone number that I can call that is based in the United States of America? I am just not receiving satisfactory service. I need a technician like the old technicians I used to be able to talk to before the take over. Mods/Admin = if this topic needs to be moved to a different forum, please do so. There really wasn't an ideal subforum for this topic. Thanks.

good luck
I spent 30 minutes talking to a female named MARK
they screwed up my order for new "free" equipment
charged my an extra $99 and NOBODY can fix it
45 minutes on the phone to find out, oh we cant do anything till it shows up on the actual BILL
all because TWO indians screwed the order up to begin with
even if you call and ASK to speak to a USA based rep, they tell you they can't do that.

Great. I had some American DIRECTV technician call me two weeks ago (who was driving on the road), but I hung up on him because I hate people calling me and soliciting me during dinner time. I may have missed a golden opportunity.

I've been trying to add peacock to my DirecTV for days, when you go through the website it says it adds it and then immediately send me an email saying it canceled it because I forgot to fill out the email sent by peacock...
I received the email that I purchased it from DirecTV and then I immediately received the email telling me it's canceled for DirecTV and it won't let me sign up.
I've called several times and the people act like they don't even know what I'm talking about, One time the guy just kept repeating and some foreign language that I had to do it from the website.
Today the girl says she'll try to put it through but it's going to charge me $7.99 when it's only $4.99 on the website, so she went and check with her manager and they said no it's $7.99.
How come companies haven't learned when they outsource their customer service is why they lose so many customers

Well AT&T has sold their part of DirecTV letting it be their own company again. So in the coming months/years we may see some changes.
Regarding your issue I would suggest starting a new thread instead of digging up one from around 5 years ago (2019).
