Letter of Deletion for Debt

After sitting on the phone with your EOS CCA to pay a debt - I have been unable to get a letter of deletion. Ive now been on hold with many different departments at AT&T/DTV trying to get to someone who can help me get a letter of deletion for debt that I have paid.

Mind you the debt (bill) was for a box that I returned to DirectTV, yet DTV said I had not returned it. So not only am I paying for an item that I am not responsible for, but now I am also being punished for the having the $145 on my credit report.

Now I am having issues refinancing my home as your debt collectors do not issue letters of deletion. I need a letter of deletion directly from DirectTV.

falynne, that sounds too close to what I think I am facing. I returned my equipment Mar 2, and then I get a letter from DirectTV that says I had better return my hardware or else. But I never work with a company without keeping proof of anything I am asked to do. I do have the receipt from FEDEX. They will face a claim in small claims court if they pull any tricks on me.

DTV sales debt to the highest bidder and once sold you need to contact that company about any paperwork. If you can prove you returned the receivers then you have to call DTV.

@shannon02 Ive already went down the path of paying the debt (because at this point I dont care about the money). I just want a letter of deletion so it can be removed from my credit history.

No answer to this comment! It would have been nice to see one cause I’m in same boat. Have paid in full letter and no luck with at&t/directtv giving me a deletion letter!

@Eladiir

So far a "letter of deletion" is not provided. If you cannot get one through the collection agency either, then you may consider a BBB/FCC complaint.

If you still wish to discuss with other customers then start a new thread. This discussion had ended over a year ago. Don't want to get lost in something not recent that may have outdated info or notifying people who have long moved on from the topic.
