I'm trying to get in contact with the loyalty department

This forum is not customer support, you won’t reach them here. Best way to reach them is to call and say “cancel service” at the prompt. That will get you a retention specialist which I believe is basically the same.

Well that is just what some call it. Be it Loyalty, retention, or cancellations it is the same department. That is because they want to increase "loyalty" by retaining your business, if they can.

 

Call DirecTV and when you get the voice system say "cancel". Though it will not fix any hold times (short staffing from Covid), it should at least minimize transfers. But if you are looking for a discount, don't expect one. They pulled those back before Covid pre the announcement from their CEO. Too many customers skating on discounts operating at a loss or at risk of doing so. To save costs, reduce service to within budget.
