Major price jump
After 15 plus years of being a direct tv customer, ATT no longer offers any "promotional discounts" and so my bill has jumped up nearly 70 dollars per month. Representatives 2 months in a row cannot help other than to tell me to check online. Transferred to some sort of specialist/ supervisor where i remained on hold for 30 minutes before i had to hang up. Despicable way to treat loyal customers.

Promotional discounts can still be available. What is happening is they are having to reel in customers who's discounts are not sustainable. Getting close to $70 in discounts was impressive, but unfortunately is not something they can keep doing at that level.
At the end of the day they cannot continue to float customers with extreme discounts anymore. They are a business and understandably is having to reduce the gravy train. You may not like it, but having to be close to or the actual cost of service is not bad treatment of customers. If you cannot afford it, or just have issue with the cost on principle, then reduce your services to a price that is acceptable.

from ATT and was mildly appalled!
That being said, in the last 15 years I have had many many promotions
expire, called when I got around to it, and a Direct TV representative
would be kind and helpful in finding/offering something else. They always
mentioned loyalty. Now however, since ATT, it seems as if the reps are
not privy to nor able to offer anything. "Look online" . Get transferred
around. No one can help. I understand that I may be feeling a bit spoiled
but if one person would just offer me some sort of loyalty incentive I
wouldnt be researching others' experiences and exploring other options.
Completely displeased and shall take my timely bill paying elsewhere.

att ceo has stated he want to get rid of customers always looking for credits
they are part of the cause for prices always going up
imho they should stop all credits and lower the price across the board
