My bill is wrong

I have no idea why you added $69.99 to my most recent monthly bill.  My wife or I have made no changes.  Please reverse this charge ASAP.  Your fees are already ridiculously high

We didn’t perform any actions, we are customers just like you on a public forum. First, get a look at what that $69.99 charge actually is and when it may have been put into action. ‘Partial Credit/Fees’ section of your bill will state this.

Then, go here to dispute your bill: https://billing.directv.com

To Learn more about the charge call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘billing’ to the robot.

A bill increasing that much and no changes were made probably means your new customer discount ended. My bet is the bill isn’t wrong at all. That initial price is only good for 12 months, not the entire 24 months you are obligated for.

@Crisfield

What does the line item for that $69.99 say? If you have no idea, read through the bill and understand it before requesting charges reversed.

This is a public forum so we didn't add anything to your bill. To dispute anything on the bill, call DirecTV customer support.

We can help provide guidance if you detail what exactly on the bill you have an issue with. As for prices being "ridiculously high", well satellite TV is luxury entertainment. And the networks have increased their costs to the TV providers year after year resulting in today's pricing. Cost of everything goes up unfortunately. Review the channels you watch, and verify how many TVs you use, and make sure you are not paying for a higher level of services than you use.

@Juniper @detuch254 That doesn’t necessarily mean there was a $69.99 line item on the bill. That could also be interpreted as the bill increased $69.99, which is why I posted what I did. Anyone wish to place odds on whether there is actually a $69.99 charge versus a $69.99 increase in the bill?

I normally hear an increase being rounded by an average consumer ($60, $65, or $70 for example). Getting $69.99 is rather specific and is how a service (such as base package) would be listed.

Consumers round, businesses do the exact XX.99 for specific items/services. So to me odds are in favor of specific line item with that amount. But I accept it is not impossible to mean increase, though is an odd amount for the total to change by exactly.

Hopefully the OP will post back with clarification. And if increase, they look at their prior bill and compare it to this one to see where the difference comes from.
