I HAVE DIRECT TV OF MY OWN. ONCE MY MOTHER DIED I ASSUME HER BILL I GUESS. I DID NOT AGREE TO PAY HER BILL. I HAVE FIRST NET ALSO. I WANT TO JUST SWAP MY FIRSTNET CELLPHONE BACK TO ATT FROM VERIZON. I KEEP GETTING THE RUNAROUND ABOUT A BILL OF $367. IF I HAD THIS GOING ON HOW WOULD I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO OBTAIN MY DIRECT TV SERVICE AND FIRSTNET. I NEED TO RETURN VERIZON PHONE WITH IN THE NEXT 5 DAYS. I DO HAVE A NEW SIM CARD FOR FIRSTNET. WHY AM I GETTING TREATED LIKE THIS, I NEED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE QUICK ABOUT THIS PLEASE

You seem to have an AT&T account issue. That would be better brought up on the AT&T forums, not the DIRECTV ones.

So why didn't you cancel your mothers account?

First of all, turn off the CAPS LOCK please so that it is natural to read.
Your mother passing doesn't mean you assume her AT&T bill. What needed to be done was to contact AT&T to cancel the account since she is now deceased. They may require you taking the death certificate to an AT&T corporate store to authorize the cancellation.
Your mother's AT&T account should have nothing to do with your account. The DirecTV service would be in your name and SSN so not tied to your mother's account at all.
It is DirecTV, not Direct TV (only a single T in the brand). Something to be careful of so you don't fall for any scams out there.
So call AT&T and go over the process for account owner is now deceased. Any final billing should be referred to the Executor of the Estate.
Doesn't sound like you are being treated bad in any way. If you are all over the place when talking with customer support like your post here, then that is probably causing confusion.
