(800) 531-5000 is the direct DTV support number but due to Covid-19 the open call centers are understaffed and that is also why chat is not available as all CSRs are on the phone.

This is a customer to customer forum only a few employees on their own time and the moderators read these post not DTV/AT&T.
You will have to call AT&T's international number and have them transfer you to DTV.

Sorry you got caught by a spam/scam post. They have been working on preventing those kinds of posts, or removing them as quickly as possible but crooks are always trying to stay a step ahead.
With any business, verify the phone number on their bill or website. Though AT&T owns DirecTV now, the legacy DirecTV number is still in operation as shown on their website.

Don't call AT&T's international support number, unless perhaps you are pulling up Roger's Wireless (a Canadian cell tower).

Well guess what, they are struggling like everybody else because of Covid-19. They were required to shutdown many call centers (tempoarily) and put employees on extended leave. So they are very short staffed, even relying more on outsourcing. It will take time to get anything back to a state of seeming normal. Until then, call their public official number if connected to United States phone service, or if pulling up a Canadian tower for roaming use AT&T's international support number since DirecTV itself doesn't accept calls from international as they no out of country services like parent AT&T.

Call +1.314.925.6925 (free from your AT&T wireless phone).

Been trying to call for 5 days- can’t get anyone! My screen keeps freezing. Fine for one minute then freezes then comes back then second later freezes. Eventually screen goes black and says I have a main receiver problem. I’ve went through every automated shutdown, reset, refresh unplug, restart, red button push there is and No help. It just starts doing it all over again. If I can’t get help I’m cancelling service.

Sounds like you've done most of the troubleshooting already. Just a few things to be sure of before needing to replace the box.
What model are you boxes and which one is having the issue?
How is your recording space percentage?
Verify the box is not plugged into a "smart" power strip.
If your TV has it, turn off HDMI-CEC.
Check that coax is finger tight to each box.
HDMI secure and free from debris on both ends.
Try another HDMI cord and/or HDMI input on the TV if available.
If you notice issues are occurring with DirecTV box and other devices on the TV, try unplugging power from the TV for a minute to reset it. Just make sure to put it back on the correct INPUT/SOURCE once back on.
That error message about "main" receiver, sounds like you might have a Genie setup. If so, there is precise order for resets and power cycles. Genie > Wireless Video Bridge (WVB) > Client > HDDVR > HD non-DVR. Just make sure not to plug a box into power until the prior step in the chain is complete.
If that doesn't work, then you will need to call DirecTV and see about a replacement box. Delivery is $19.95 or covered if you have their optional Equipment Protection Plan. Depends on your setup if a warranty replacement or upgrade would be the best way to go, or if there are any other possible concerns.
