New Install

We had Direct TV installed 5 days ago & my elderly Mother is not satisfied at all, She says it too much to figure out & many of her favorite channels are missing. She's miserable.  I was told we can cancel within 30 days if not satisfied without paying the $20 per month 24 months.  HELP!!!!

you were told wrong, you had 24 hours, you are now on the hook for the remainder of months left on contract, she will also be required to drop off the equipment at a participating ups or fedex store. the dish will stay on the roof as you now own that and they wont come out to remove it.

Some AT&T services may have a 30 day buyer's remorse period to cancel without getting an Early Cancellation Fee (ECF). However DirecTV still has their 24 hours from install, which has not changed since AT&T acquired them. After that if you cancel the ECF is valid. And it is valued at $20 for each month remaining, but you don't pay it monthly as it is charged on the final bill. So with 23 full months remaining the ECF would be $460.
