Whether you have your local affiliate for CBS or not has no bearing on the NFL Sunday Ticket.

The NFL Sunday Ticket is for out-of-market games only.

Games that are in-market play on the local affiliate.

Negotiations between DirecTV and local affiliate do not change where the game may be broadcast. If the affiliate pulls their feed, the alternative is using a regular antenna to get the free broadcast.

Still should get a discount kinda still false advertising

You can call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 and discuss about the possibility of getting a discount. There is no requirement of one being provided. Terms of service state that the programming and services can change at any time, just like any other TV provider. Since they don't own the local channels, they cannot force them to always be on.

The NFL Sunday Ticket may have all games, but if they are in-market the NFL blacks them out as they are on the local affiliate. DirecTV must abide by the blackout rules so cannot give you local games through the Sunday Ticket. This is one of the things local affiliates bank on is that by taking the feed away at this time they will hopefully leverage customers against the TV provider to cave into the higher rates they are requesting. If DirecTV were to just agree, then this would affect the next rate adjustment for all customers (since locals are not charged based on market like RSNs, but in the package so flat rates it across all customers).

Well my bill hasn't gotten cheaper and minus channels so either way I don't
like paying my bill price it's spendy but I do maybe a t and t should grow
up and just pay or drop the bills by least couple bucks it's about making
customers happy not how much money they charge cuz at 180 a month w out my
NFL Sunday ticket I deserve my CBS and abc

Rate increases are bad enough each year, many of us don't want to let it get worse by forcing DirecTV to cave to these demands. Let them negotiate a fair price to minimize the impact of cost (preferably prevent or even lower, but realistically not expected to happen).

You don't "deserve" CBS and ABC. There is nothing mandating that you are entitled to those channels. If they are that important use a antenna to get their programming at no monthly cost, provided you can get the signal of course. Hopefully negotiations will complete before the season starts in a couple months. If you have the 2nd/3rd generation Genie (HR44/HR54) you could even call DirecTV to see if you could acquire their Local Channel Connector (LCC). The accessory allows connecting a antenna (comes with a indoor one included) to your DirecTV box. Though the LCC has still been technically in testing phase, they have provided it to many in a negotiation area, but supply has been limited (especially because of the Nexstar headache)

If that $180 is not counting the NFL Sunday Ticket, I would highly suggest reviewing your services and see where you can cut cost. Pay TV is a luxury entertainment service and is priced as such. Just want to make sure you are not in a higher package, or have too many optional add-ons, then you truly use. You can change the package at any time, so if some channels you only use during part of the year (say new season of a favorite show), so reason to pay for the higher option the rest of the year when a lower costing package would better suit you.

Lol wow u r prob the worst complaint person ever and just so you know you
should not make your customers call a 1-800 number to get a discount when
you guys take channels away that should be your responsibility to give
people a discount you do that so that if people don't complain about it
when you get the money even though we don't get the channels talk about a
money-hungry crappy company

@Lilonejess

Post was not rude, just straight forward. I avoid sugar coating my statements. I pointed out the reality of the situation, advised of a backup option including a new DirecTV accessory you might able to get, and even made a suggestion to help you get a better cost on your bill.

You pay for access to locals, not any specific local channel. No TV provider can guarantee you will always have certain locals since they don't own them. None of them (Dish included) are immune from these negotiation situations. This is merely DirecTV's turn before they try to do this with the next provider. As such all TV providers have a clause in their terms of service that programming is subject to change. With that clause and the fact that negotiations do not give exceptions for the blackout rules of the NFL (or any other sport), means you don't "deserve" the channel, as much as you want to have it. I want negotiations to finish quicker, but not if it means my bill would raise that much higher as opposed to patiently waiting out the negotiation.

If by "complaint person" you mean a customer service agent, realize we do not work for DirecTV/AT&T. This is a public customer to customer forum. Some of us have been around the block to understand how it really works. We certainly voice our disagreements when they come up, but we don't make demands that DirecTV give us what we want at the expense of everyone else. As mentioned, you can call DirecTV to see if you might be able to get a discount. There is just not a guarantee for as long as you get at least one local channel, then you are getting the service you pay for. If not a single local was available, then DirecTV has a no-locals version of the package for those uncommon situations.

(d) Our Programming Changes.

Many factors affect the availability, cost and quality of programming and may influence the decision to raise prices and the amount of any increase. These include, among others, programming and other costs, consumer demand, market and shareholder expectations, and changing business conditions. Accordingly, we reserve the unrestricted right to change, rearrange, add or delete our programming packages, the selections in those packages, our prices, technologies used to deliver the Service, and any other Service we offer, at any time.

Exactly how do you sugar coat the fact that you guys keep dropping channels
and keeping my bill the same and actually this is not the first amount of
channels that we have lost due to your little fights with whatever

The year is only a little more than halfway over, yet 2019 television blackouts already have reached the previous annual record, according to the American Television Alliance (ATVA). The year already has seen 213 blackouts in which broadcasters block video providers from carrying their content, said ATVA, which includes consumer groups, video providers and independent programmers.

The previous annual record was set in 2017. Last year’s annual total was 165.

And that's fine but as a company u should give an automatic discount when u
lose channels or makes no sense to pay the same and missing channels and no
do not put it on ur customers to call a number admit the issue and
compensate ur customers having ppl call a number when I pay a fee for local
channels and I just lost 2 of the like 9 that deserves credit back to your
customers how is that wrong to expect that from the company u pay for the
channels I myself do not pay nexstar u do I pay u so therefore compensate
and treat customers rite and fair

NEED HELP?
