DirecTV (now owned by AT&T) only accepts payment in full. If they have sold the balance off to a collection agency, then they might negotiate an alternate amount but that would be through them and not DirecTV.
If not sold to a collection agency, then after paying off the balance you can discuss reactivating the account. But if sold off, then after settled in full you would need to apply for new service as you would be completely starting over.

Has the account been sold to a collection agency?

All you can do is call and ask. This forum is not customer support, no one here has access to that account. Very unlikely if it has been turned over to a collection agency.

While you CAN negotiate a lowered pay off with a collection agency, I cannot imagine that AT&T would be willing to do so.

@skeeterintexas From time to time we do see posts from customers that get offered 50% off their outstanding balance. Now whether those are legitimate offers or scams, I don’t know, I don’t recall ever seeing anyone verify either way.

DirecTV, Dish Network, and other TV providers cannot hold that intro price forever. Eventually you have to pay what the service costs. Networks charge a lot of money to the TV providers to be carried.
At least DirecTV is clear about those specials. Shows on the order confirmation as well as counting down on each monthly bill so you know when those complete and can prepare your budget for it.
You having phones with AT&T doesn't mean you wouldn't have to apply for DirecTV. They are still separate services and accounts. AT&T acquiring DirecTV didn't change that. If over 2 years canceled, then you would have to reapply regardless. However with a past due from a year and a half ago, it is very likely you would have to anyway once the balance is resolved.
Clearing up a past due balance with a TV provider before getting a new one would have been the best way to go. Otherwise it is that much harder to catchup.

I was just reached by a collection agency that brought out the debt I had with AT&T, and they provided the account number for the account that was opened 06/14/2002, she was unable to tell me when it was closed or when the collection agency took the debt, I would like to pay the original amount I owe is there anyway I can do this?

@lildefonso Once a debt is sold to a collection agency, you have to negotiate with the collection agency.
The good news is that many times you can negotiate a lowered amount. Bear in mind that the collection will stay on your credit report for 7 years albeit with a zero balance
