Paying Direct TV prices but my bill says I have at&t u-verse which I dont
I'm paying the Direct TV price for my channels but my bill is saying I have at&t u-verse. If that's the case, why am I not paying the at&t u-verse price for their package plan? The Direct TV package is higher than at&t. I'm going to cancel because I'm getting ripped off.

DirecTV and U-verse are two different TV providers, both owned by AT&T. DirecTV is by satellite, U-verse is hardline, the two services are not interchangeable. AT&T acquiring DirecTV a few years ago did not merger the services. The pricing of one has no affect regarding the pricing of the other.

So what tv service do you actually have, Directv or UVerse? If you have Directv but your bill says UVerse, something is seriously messed up with your bill.

So what ended up happening? Was there an actual problem with the bill, just a misunderstanding, do you have both DirecTV and U-Verse? Very curious on this one.

I only have at&t internet. I have Direct TV as my satellite provider. I don't have u-verse receivers either. When I first got this service the technician said that at&t u-verse wasn't available in my area. After speaking with an at&t associate in the store, she said that it was. So my problem now is a extremely high bill with Direct. I am looking for another provider because you have to call both at&t and Direct to deal with a billing issue.

If you have DirecTV satellite, then you are getting DirecTV prices. U-Verse and DirecTV, though both owned by AT&T, are two completely different TV providers with different packages, equipment, and delivery methods. Their prices are unrelated as they do not have anything to do with each other besides having the same parent owner.
You of course speak to AT&T and DirecTV separately. They are different providers after all. A combined bill would not change that, just like if you had DirecTV combined with CenturyLink, Verizon, Mediacom, etc. Combined bill is just a convenience for making one payment, but they are still 2 different accounts. Personally I keep my bills separate, but with all payments on my card (most things I use auto pay), I have one spot to see the summary of all my payments. And if I have a question, then I can look at the provider specific bill for more details.
U-verse being available in the area doesn't mean it is available for your exact address. Unlike DirecTV it is a hardline service so AT&T lines must physically reach there. The quality of the lines and distance must be able to support the internet requirements, and the hub or such for where you live must be able to support another customer and not be a max capacity for users. So it might come down to U-Verse is in the area, but it depends on a few factors if you personally can receive it. That is when information between tech and agent may legitimately differ (general info vs specific in the system). However remember store agents, like many companies, are in a sales environment and some will say anything to make a sale (even if in the end the order cannot go through).
So it is not a billing issue of having DirecTV service but the bill calling it a U-Verse TV package, but that you don't like the pricing and wish it were cost of something else. And remember advertised costs are the 1st year intro pricing, not the long term cost. Everybody was a new customer once. Perhaps some guidance can help reduce costs.
What are the exact line items for DirecTV? Description and price (screenshot if you can)
What channels are the ones you truly watch? Channels and the packages they are in have changed over the years, including this year.
Do you watch the Regional Sport Networks (RSNs)?
