Place my service on vacation for 30 days

Do you have an option to place a temporary hold on direct tv service?  I will be away for 30 days.  How do I do this?

Call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 to make the request. Here is the suspend info: https://support.directv.com/account-management/2430

 

One update the info page doesn't mention. There is now a $7 monthly "Vacation Hold" so though the suspend is no longer free, it is certainly much cheaper than what a full bill is.

You have to call DTV.
