How do you send a private message to DirectTV to get a response on a billing issue?

Private messaging is no longer supported on these forums.

I am looking for a contact email for DirectTv. In a previous posting, a DirectTv rep said that rather than posting on the forum board, customers should send a private message to DirectTV regarding billing issues.

Check the date on that post. The OLD forum allowed PMs. This new forum does not.

PM or email? PMs are different than email. I am not aware of an email address for DirecTV

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

There is no email. ATT/Directv does not do customer support via email. Whatever post you saw about a private message is old and no longer accurate. As noted, the old forum software had private messages, this new forum software does not. We’ve been told private messages will be added at some point, just don’t know when. For now, your only options are call and chat.

Thank you! I am a pro at "call and wait" with DirectTV. The frustration is that it is almost impossible to find a contact name and email or address to formally document a complaint. That leaves customers at the mercy of talking to multiple DirectTV representatives who give contradictory information and leave you with an unresolved issue. Since February 12th, I have gotten 5 different bills all for different amounts. Each time I talk to a representative, I am given a new billing amount, followed by a bill with a totally different amount.

If you feel you're not receiving accurate or consistent info, you can try involving the BBB or FCC. Either of these agencies can usually elicit a quick response from AT&T.
