Regional sports fee & movies extra pack fee
I have these fees and have been on the phone with Direct TV multiple times regarding them. First time they tell me I HAVE to pay these. Second time they tell me they can be deleted. Third time they tell me they are government fees I have to pay for. I had the choice package and a month ago I changed to the entertainment package. I have NO movie channels. My sister who lives just 4 minutes away from me has neither charge. Why I being charged 4.99 for movies extra pack and 8.49 for Regional sports?

Ugh you got agents who really didn't know what they were talking about.
Movies Extra Pack (Used to be call the HD Extra Pack) covers channels 565 - 573. This is optional and can be removed if you do not watch those channels.
Regional Sport Network (RSN) fee is a regulatory fee covering the professional sports teams in your market. This is included in packages Choice and above. The only way to avoid the fee is changing to a package that does not include RSNs: Family, Select, Entertainment, and Preferred Xtra. The last one is a special package. Includes some non sports channels that Xtra doesn't have, and base cost is a couple dollars cheaper so with removal of RSN fee the end cost is similar as if you were on Choice. Have to call and say "cancel" to the voice system as Preferred Xtra seems to have been moved to being a retention offer (as front line agents seem unaware of its existence).

After speaking to someone yesterday for the millionth time, they told me these fees would be removed and credited on my next bill. We will see. Let’s just say I’m NOT holding my breath. I have been told so many different things by so many different people.

The Movies Extra Pack is an optional add-on and can be removed.
The RSN fee, just like receiver services and taxes, cannot just be removed. The only way it comes off is if you go to a package that does not have the RSN channels.
Packages with RSN: Choice, Xtra, Ultimate, Premier
Packages without RSN: Family, Select, Entertainment, Preferred Xtra

The $10 difference of Entertainment above Select gives you ESPN, ESP2, FS1, and Pursuit.
Preferred Xtra because cheaper than Xtra and no RSN fee, makes it similar in total cost compared to Choice with the RSN fee. Nice option for those that watch little to no sports, but want more channels.
Even with removing the Movies Extra Pack, you will still have Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (565). It was added to some packages a few years ago, around the same time of the RSN fee being itemized instead of 'hidden' in the package cost. So now HM&M is in Select, Entertainment, Preferred Xtra, and Premier.
