Regional Sports Fee?? Sports are STUPID!! Give me El Rey back!
Take this (Regional Sports Fee) off my bill!. I HATE SPORTS!! I don't want them at ALL! Take away all the dumb overpaid athletes channels and give me El Rey BACK!! I have ZERO use for SPORTS! They're stupid. WHY AM I PAYING FOR STUPID SPORTS? But you couldn't keep El Rey? But you can keep over 7 thousand sports chanels. You have 1 month to get my bill under $100/month and I now have no use for you period. $157/month? For what I got. NOT WORTH IT!. I can suscribe to Netflix. Hulu (commercial free), Disney+, and Amazon and still get nowhere NEAR $100/month. You're company is dying so us loyal customers have to pay absorbent amount of money each month to make up the fact EVERYONE is going streaming. As I will be doing by next month. I already subscribe to the big 4 (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon) and I pay a total of $30-40. DirecTV. I pay $157/month FOR WHAT!. . . . . That's right, NOTHING!!! You're obsolete. Lower your prices, or DirecTV is as good dead. But I believe that's what AT&T wants anyway. You over priced, greedy corporation! I've always disliked AT&T, Now I HATE AT&T!! AT&T ruiuned my TV. But THANK YOU to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon giving me what I wanna watch for around $35/month.
DirecTV is nothing but a HUGE RIP-OFF. Subscribe to the streaming serivces, watch everything you want and save $100/month.

you should have no expectation that any particular action will come from your post demand for a lower bill , we are customers and do not represent AT&T with our responses. This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers and at&t does not read the forums

You can switch to a channel package without sports channels and you won't pay that fee.

The Regional Sport Network (RSN) fee is in packages Choice and above. The only way to get rid of the fee is to move to a package that doesn't include RSNs, or any sport channels would be Family and Select. The Entertainment package doesn't have RSNs so no RSN fee, but the $10 more than Select is because you get ESPN, ESPN2, Pursuit, and FS1.
If the channels you do watch are in Choice or higher, than I would call DirecTV and see if the Preferred Xtra package is still available. It is slightly cheaper than Xtra, but doesn't have the RSN fee. It swaps out most sports channels and adds in some non-sports (such as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries). Since a lot of front-line agents don't seem to be aware of this one, it might be a retention only offer. So when you call and get the voice system say "cancel" and that should route you directly.
El Rey is a channel that unfortunately their worth was diminishing. As such it was decided it was not worth the continued carriage. Even if it was a nice channel for you, it was not such for the majority.
Yes at the moment streaming service seem cheaper. They don't maintain their own infrastructure, relying on your internet and all the internet in-between to deliver the service. Their prices have been going up as well, so wondering how long until they are in line with traditional TV providers. Plus for some people all the different streaming services added together and they are back at that cost anyway. Not everybody has good enough internet (if internet at all) to support streaming. For me, having a dedicated TV provider is needed as my household's usage wouldn't support streaming only. Plus when internet goes out I still have my TV, or vice versa. If both are done, there is a bigger issue. So if streaming works for you, then so be it, but it is not for everybody.
