The only package that doesn't have Fox News is Family.

Networks package their channels to TV providers which in turn must package them to us. Essentially the only way to go without Fox News is to go without pay TV completely. You get a variety of news channels. Set favorites to only watch the ones you like.

Good luck finding one. All of the cable/satellite providers carry Fox News. If you don't want to see it you can setup a Favorite Channel list that doesn't include it.

It's not that I don't want a package that does not include Fox News.  What I want is not to be forced to subsidize the racism, bigotry, mysogyny, sedition and lies that Fox News spews. DirecTV, are you listening? You don't even have to adjust the package fee.  Just don't force us to bankroll the cesspool that is Fox News.

The TV industry is setup to package channels to providers and then to us. You don't want to "bankroll" it, then reduce to Family or go without. DirecTV does not have a choice in the matter as FOX is so big they have the leverage with all the providers.

You may feel that it's a "cesspool". Others do not. If you don't like it, don't watch it. But don't expect providers like DirecTV to take it way just because you don't like it.

When are networks going to get smart and offer ala carte services? I also do not even want FOX, OAN or Newsmax available in my home as my husband is tempted to turn it on when I'm not looking. The lies, hate, conspiracies, etc. are brainwashing people and ruining this country/world. I do not want to support that in any way and will find a way out.

They can't provide that as the content providers will not allow it.

@Peggylou46 ,

The challenge that cable/satellite provides face with ala carte services is that the corporations that own the major networks won't allow it. They force providers into bundling "lesser" channels with their popular channels. That's one reason by traditional cable/satellite providers are losing folks to streaming services.

Thank you, they will probably lose me also if the FCC doesn't do something about the far-right agenda of mistruths, lies, conspiracies and fear mongering.

Interesting comments….feel sorry for person trying to find package that doesn’t include Fox News.  Would recommend watching less fake news.

@Peggylou46 Fox is definitely not perfect, but you do realize that the other MSM news networks promoted proven lies for the last 4  years, Right?

So while you don't need to watch FOX News, you feel everyone else must to the same as you know best what all the other DirecTV subscribers should watch?  I feel so much better knowing there are "news police" like you out there ensuring I only get the news you think I need to see. You and those like you are a sad lot and really somewhat undeserving of the freedoms we have in this country.

I also do not even want FOX, OAN or Newsmax available in my home as my husband is tempted to turn it on when I'm not looking.

Regardless of your individual feelings of the channel, he may watch whatever he chooses. Being married doesn't mean you get to control every aspect of his life.

As has been mentioned time and time again, TV providers give a variety of news channels. The networks package their channels to the TV providers is how the industry is setup, so the providers are required to package them to us. So long as there is a contractual agreement between provider and network, the channel will be kept. And Fox is one of the biggest brands out there so have a lot of leverage to ensure all their channels are provided.

I cannot control what anybody wants to do, including my husband, but that doesn't mean I cannot have concern about a decent society (and household). I would love all porn to be taken off TV also, but I know I cannot control that. I have the right to speak up though and the lies from the far-right with no control is bad - for everyone.

TV provider gives you variety. It is not up to them to censor content based on your individual preferences. It is you who chooses what of what they have available that you watch.

You can set a favorites list to hide any channels you get but don't want to watch. You and your husband can have separate favorites in case there are channels one watches but the other does not. You can also set it to hide channels specifically categorized as "Adult", which you do not get unless you subscribe them on top of your package.

Having concern is one thing. But "tempted to turn it on when you are not looking" sounds in comparison like a kid turning to something forbidden by a parent. If he wants to watch it either for another point of view, or to see what challenges are to his point of view if he wants to be prepared for any discussion he might have with friends or co-workers, then that is up to him, not you. Fair enough to ask that he watches anything you don't like when you are away, or perhaps with headphones or such.
