Sales agent lied. Happens too often as store agents do not work for DirecTV but 3rd party retailers. Locations like Costco work for Smart Circle. They can only send new orders to other providers. They cannot manage accounts after the order is submitted.

You get what is on the order confirmation. If you need a lower cost, call DirecTV to reduce your package or other changes that can shave cost. Doubtful any significant discounts will be available as DirecTV is trying to make good on the investment of giving you that intro deal. Also discounts have been reeled in by the current CEO as too many customers were surviving off too high discounts for too long. Now they are getting the harsh reality that discounts are a temporary perk, not a way to keep the service affordable.

good luck, but you were lied to.  try going back the store and finding that agent, or the store manager
