Scammers! Why weren’t we informed!

I was contacted yesterday by “att Directv” with a special offer to cut my bill in half. They had my name address phone number and bill amount. You had to pay 6 months in advance to get the promotion. I almost gave them my card number! When I called the real att directv they told me they were well aware of the scam! Correct me if I’m wrong but the company has all our email addresses and we were not informed, why? When my bill is late I receive an email!

These where sent to all receivers in late 2020.

The warning was on the TV using the built-in message option that DirecTV boxes have. Unfortunately, too many clear those without reading essentially treating it like junk mail.

Your implied sarcasm or such not withstanding, I do not work for DirecTV/AT&T. After getting help on the forum years ago, I started participating and sharing my the knowledge I have accumulated to try and help others. Sure I post a lot as it is part of my lifestyle now, but that still does not make me an employee.

Those who are actually employed will have the "employee", or something akin to "Associated member", but are posting on their personal time (off-the-clock). Only the officially logo'd ATTHelp team are in any official capacity.
