Senior Citizen Discount

I received a call yesterday from Tony (Rep # AP680) offering me a senior citizen discount on my account of $50 per month for 5 years, but there was an activation fee of $99.99 that would be refunded to me in 6 months.  To activate I couldn't have the activation fee billed on my account - I had to give him a credit card number.  This sounded too good to be true, but I'm hoping it is true.

Can you please let me know if this was a legit offer?

SCAM!

DirecTV does not have category discounts (Senior Citizen, Military, Low Income, etc.). They do not call customers to proactively offer discounts either. If you want to discuss lowering your bill, you call DirecTV yourself at their official publicly listed customer support number.

If you provided your credit card info, contact your card issuer immediately about the scam and dispute the charge. Be vigilant for any unauthorized charges on your account going forward.

There is no senior discount. Sorry but that was a scam. Suggest you cancel your credit card ASAP.
