Started over my service agreement when I moved

We have had a lot of issues with att and directv. When we moved, we asked to move our service. After being here one month, I find out that when my service started at the new house, they started over a new 12 month agreement. That isn’t anything they say upfront. My original agreement spoiled have ended in August. I was going to leave for Cox. Now they say I have 11 months at $20/mo. I never knowingly signed a new year long agreement. Any recourse??

A mover's order with no equipment upgrade has always had a 12 month commitment, it's 24 months if you upgrade or add equipment with the move, the order confirmation details the commitment

Movers order comes with a 12 month agreement, or 24 months if with an upgrade of equipment. It is the agent's job to inform you. But for everybody's protection, DirecTV emails an order confirmation that clearly lists the agreement. Plus when you sign off with the tech you are once again accepting the order as is.

Because of being in the Terms of Service, and multiple notification methods (most importantly that order confirmation), there is no recourse. The agreement will stand as it has for everybody else who has moved. If you were planning on going to Cox, should have just canceled instead of moving the service you weren't planning on keeping.
