Payment arrangements must be made BEFORE a bill is PAST DUE.

If (and when) the account is sold to a collection agency, you will have to deal with the collection agency directly.  The good news is that many times, you can negotiate a lower pay off with the collection agency.

All companies will do the same thing about past due bills.

A payment arrangement can only be set once past due, but before service is shut off. If you have canceled your account, then no payment arrangement can be made as final bills do not get extra time.

This is standard with many companies. A financial hardship on your part does not make a wrongdoing on theirs. They are a business, not a charity. So the credit score is on you.

Glad you're getting back to work. Hopefully more and more people will be able to return to normal throughout this year.

Certainly no insult to your situation, just that businesses are hit by this pandemic as well. They still have bills to pay so cannot just float customer bills. Just the unfortunate reality of the situation.
