Tired of this bill increasing

Once again my bill increased because of "promotions" falling off, I am now X4 of my 1st bill, This is no better than the local cable company.

You guys need to get your act together and this is why you keep losing customers !

the ceo announced at the beginning of the year that they will no longer offer promotions to existing customers after they expire as during the promotional period they are operating at a loss, thats why your expected to pay regular price after the first 12 months. just FYI all providers do the same my comcast promotions just ran out and there are no promotions for existing customers

Hence the reason for the mass customer loss, Maybe they should offer a deal that holds the price, after I drop Direct TV, I will then drop Digital life, then the cell phones.

AT&T has become a joke

Promotions are not forever. In fact there has been a concern of customers operating at a loss as they trying skating by with discounts. So the CEO publicly announced month ago that promotion offers would be pulled back to address this.

So if you cannot afford service without discounts, then you cannot afford it and should take the responsibility of reducing service to meet your budget. Never expect a company to keep handing discounts to make it affordable for you. They are nice when available, but those are temporary perks. TV is a luxury entertainment service, so discounts are not something you are entitled to.

So it is actually you who needs to "get your act together" and take responsibility for your own finances. To expect a company to give away the service because you cannot afford it, now that is the joke.

Totally disagree with you, 1st off I can afford it and 2nd you was not there when this was sold to me as part of my cell phone plan and you were not there for the agreements and promises made.

Point is, Direct TV with the increases is no cheaper than cable and will keep losing customers.

I am not here to start an argument, just that companies never take care of existing customers (all companies, not just Direct TV) so it is better to go thru the hassle to keep switching

The advertisements have the fine print about the specials. When you get service with any company, no matter what a sales agent says, read the order confirmation and any other paperwork. Do your due diligence and make sure you understand the service you are getting.

Doesn't matter if it is DirecTV, Dish, or any cable company. Networks increase their costs over the years, resulting in the cost of service we see today. No company is going to keep discounting your service if it means they are operating at a loss. So they are charging what the service is actually worth. If that doesn't work for you then you reduce service within the cost you want, or try somewhere else. Just remember, advertised pricing is the intro cost, not the long-term price. So always be prepared for what the service will actually cost.

Companies are not there to "take care of you". They are there to sell a service, and get enough back to reinvest to grow, improve, and be profitable. If you could truly afford service, you wouldn't be a provider jumper trying to scam all the intro offers because you feel entitled to discounts.

Compare companies at their regular cost and service, not their intro specials. Then you can find what works best for you for the long run, and only switch if it does become that significant difference. Otherwise, switching all the time trying to keep an intro offer is just looking for a handout.
