Too much money for the service

Will be canceling my DirecTV account the instant my home is connected to the internet.  Been paying for Directv hardware for over 10 years with no relief.

So what’s your point? If you think you’re notifying Directv, you’re not. You are just informing other customers and not likely anyone cares. Curious you say “hardware”, though. I haven’t spent a penny on hardware since they went to the lease model. Back when you owned your receivers, I spent a bundle.

Thank you!  Glad to see I could help get your blood pressure up.  Be nice or Santa might not be.

Bet your really proud of your "Expert" status.  Don't worry, I have better things to do than aggravate you. Have a wonderful EXPERT life.

This is a public forum of other customers, so this is not notifying DirecTV to cancel your service. For that you have to call.

DirecTV does not charge you for hardware. You pay for receiver services that cover the account, no matter how many boxes you have that can use them. You pay for each additional TV on the service whether it be connected by DirecTV box or using a built-in client of the TV.

DirecTV has never charged monthly for the equipment itself as any cost is up front (purchase in the old days, or the one-time lease cost when they made that an option). Though before that Primestar had a rental option, but even if you were one of those older customers the rental should have stopped once you switched to DirecTV equipment.

If you feel it is too much money and want to go elsewhere, that certainly can be a reasonable choice. Just make sure to read the fine print and order confirmation before you install any new service so you don't get surprised later.

Though interesting you created a brand new forum account to tell strangers you are cancelling. Oh and don't forget you pay for the entire service month, so make sure you understand your billing dates so you don't cancel too early (such as on day 1 as a few unfortunate people have).

You didn’t aggravate me or get my blood pressure up but clearly I touched a nerve for you to respond so rudely. I apologize if I somehow offended you.
