Was offered 50% dicount
I was sent an email offering 50% off my bill because I lost job and couldn’t pay bill so I had service shut off after 2 months and the bill was $230. The email stated that I could pay $115 and have paid in full, but when I called to get it paid after I went back to work I was told I had to pay full amount because the email expired and I had service cancelled. Do they not offer the discount since I was trying to be responsible and had it cancelled? I’m playing catch up on my bills and wanting to get it taken care of, but can’t afford to pay entire balance as I have just went back to work.

sounds like you werent speaking with directv and were speaking with a collections company directv does not offer a 50% discount to anyone just for falling on hard times. they sold the debt to a collection agency and they were offering a 50% discount

Wow that’s not something I’ve ever seen.

It’s true obviously, but when I called to take the offer the person on the other end of the phone wouldn’t let me pay it off. Acted like I was lying or trying to get something for nothing, so needless to say I didn’t even make a payment. I had been with Directv for years and will eventually get them paid off, but you can bet I will be switching to Dish Network when I get ready to get tv again.
