We received a text stating we were getting a credit to our bill. Did anyone else get this?
Last month we received a text stating we were getting a credi to our bill. Coincidentally it was in the amount of our current cable package. When we we finally were able to get through, we were informed credit was given due to COVID-19. No credit on current bill. Anyone else get this text or info?

That is a scam. Concerning that if they knew the exact amount of your bill, then your info is out there. I would take steps to protect yourself, changing passwords, watching your credit, securing your mail, and more carefully disposing of your mail.
At this time DirecTV customers are not receiving courtesy credits for Covid-19. And any specials that might have would never pay an entire bill.

However you said you got through and were informed about credit. Sounds like you called number in the text, meaning you gave your info to criminals when you called.

Yes. I received a phone call stating I would be receiving a credit of $60 a month.

That would be a scam. DirecTV does not call to offer credits. That hasn't changed since this thread 2 years ago (2020).
