What are your DVR/Receiver model numbers?

How old is your satellite dish?

DirecTV's old standard definition equipment is being obsoleted over the next year and must be swapped with newer equipment.  It shouldn't cost you anything.

If you upgraded that recently it would be unusual to get that notification. Either the notice is pulling from an old database not recognizing your new equipment, or there is still something outdated on the account that wasn't replaced with the upgrade.

What are the models of every box you have?

Do you know what receiving dish you have?

DirecTV has been doing a complete shutdown of their old MPEG-2 (SD only) feeds since April 2019. Any MPEG-2 equipment at home should be complimentary MPEG swapped (not upgrade) to current equipment.
