YES Network
Can someone explain why I get the YES network (channel 631) on my TV (I have the Premium DTV package, all the sports package add-ons, etc.) but when I log into the YES app on Roku through my TV provider account, it won't let me watch anything? It tells me to sign in though my TV provider, which I do. And still I can't watch ANY of the content (not just Yankee games).
I am 100% sure this was not the case a week or so ago. What happened?

What error do you get when signing in?

Premier does give you the premium packs, including the Sports Pack that has over 35 regional and specialty sports channels. However, those RSNs still have special rules.
What is your zip code?
Do you have DirecTV (satellite) or DIRECTV STREAM (streaming-only)?
Double check you are selecting which of those two providers you have.
What happens when you try to watch? (symptoms, error message, etc.)
Have you tried on any other streaming device or just the Roku?
Which Roku do you have?
Is the app the old one just for DirecTV, or the new one to be used by either DirecTV or DIRECTV STREAM?

I have DirecTV satellite and live in California. I can watch YES any time of day if I tune to channel 631 on the DirecTV satellite. I used to be able to sign into the YES app on Roku and do the same, but now I can't. When I used to sign into the app using my DTV account, there would be a DTV logo in the upper-right corner, and I notice that's not longer there. Any time I try to watch something on the app now, the message says I "either need to subscribe to the YES channel for $200/year, or sign in using my TV Provider". This issue seem very new.
I understand the RSN issue, but that issue doesn't apply to channel 631 on the DirecTV satellite, and I always believed it was because I pay for the MLB Extra Innings package. If I am signing into the YES app on Roku with my DTV account, why doesn't it recognize my account should get the YES network?

This issue appears to coincide with the YES network's launch of their new DTC update. I know they just started rolling this out because before this issue started occurring, there was no option of subscribing directly to YES, and I think it's messing everything up.
My Roku app says it's updated--I tried updating multiple times, but I have the latest version.

There is the problem.
It is supposed to.
Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) are Regional. They are supposed to blackout professional games if you are out of their market. You can use them to watch college games or other regional events, and sometimes the pre/post games of the professional ones. But the professional games themselves are not allowed.
So if you are trying to watch the Yankees, that would be on the MLB Extra Innings. That is for the out of market professional games during the season.
Out of season games are only available to those in the Region.
If it was working before, you were extremely lucky as you were never supposed to get out-of-market professional games on the RSN itself.
