4k upgrade cost

I currently have a (1) Genie HR44-500 DVR and (3) Mini Genies C51-500 with "choice" programming.  I want to upgrade to 4k but don't want to pay for anything.  Are there any upfront or hidden charges to upgrade to 4k?

Thanks,

-James

You would need to replace the HR44 with an HR54 and replace one of your C51s with a C61k, or replace the HR44 with an HS 17 and ADD a C61K (which is the only client that will give you 4K) to your three C51s

There is no cost for 4K itself. But requires an equipment upgrade. Depends if you are due for a free one or not. Call DirecTV when ready to order.

Upgrade C51 to 4K which gets the C61K (the only 4K model). The HR44 gets replaced with the HR54 as required. You lose all recordings as they do not transfer. This gets you the couple 4K channels.

Alternatively you upgrade a C51 to an HDDVR. Though not 4K, you gain 2 tuners and 500GB recording space. More reliable as not an extension of the Genie but a dedicated receiver. Still shares recordings of course.

No difference in monthly cost with either option. But you do get a 24 month service agreement.
