771 Error on some channels
Have had Directv satellite for over 20 years. Have not had a problem until recently when some channels started giving a 771 error code. No storms or obstructions. There is a connector on the coax cable. I have ordered a new coax that is long enough not to need the connector, hoping that resolves the problem. Here are the signal strengths. Appreciate any help/advice you can offer.

Your dish aim needs to be tweaked. You can call DirecTV for a service. You can also find YouTube videos that show how to "dither" the dish adjustments to increase those 99º readings up into the high 80-90s.

And the 103 sat also needs to be in the 80s.

Litzdog and Shannon, thank you for the feedback. Question, why does this only affect some channels and not all of them? Also, I have another receiver on the same dish and it doesn't do this. Just wondering. Thank you again!

Channels are all carried on different satellites. For example, while game show network is on satellite 103, ESPN is on 99. So, if you had low reception on 103, GSN wouldn’t come in good but ESPN would.
If you are having issues with this specific receiver in the house, try swapping it in place with the known good receiver that has good signal strength. Does the issue persist? If so, you probably have a bad receiver and need to request a replacement. $19.95 for shipping or otherwise free with the protection plan
If the issue is fixed by doing this ‘swap’, that would be a cabling issue to the receiver having issues, a faulty splitter, etc.
What are your current receiver models? Which receiver model gives you issues?

Receivers fall within a range of sensitivity so they lose the signal at different levels.

The fact that you are getting a signal on 99ca (howbeit low) and not on 99 CB makes me think you may have other issues besides the dish being out of alignment. Is this a DVR and if it is or the signal levels the same on both tuners? Do you know if you have a B-band converter? (a rectangular box about 4 in long, an inch and a quarter wide, and 3/4 of an inch thick that connects to the coax connection behind the receiver.) If you do have a B-band converter do you have one on another receiver that you could swap to try it on this one?
