Most likely the dish needs to be aligned, there are videos on youtube if you want to try it yourself otherwise you have to call and wait for a CSR to get to you to setup a tech visit.

I have the same problem and live in South Florida - tropical rain central. I was told so many times but AT&T that with new technology these days you can even get signal in a hurricane - (boy am I gullible). Anyway - good rain storm now and signal gone, again. I don't get it - I have a perfectly open view for my dish, no obstructions, nothing. Is there just a boost required in the signal or something? This kind of stuff happened 20 years ago, should not happen today. Very frustrating - I did call CSR last time, a tech came out, did make some adjustments and seemed to work ok for some time and now back to the norm....

There have been posts here that their DTV service was working during hurricanes in FL so the dish is not aligned or something is causing the dish to move. Eventually the storm will win regardless of how well the dish is aimed as heavy rain absorbs and scatters the signal until it moves out the path of the dish and sat.
