Add receiver to new DirectTV account

I started DirectTV service at a new house on 12/18/20.  At the time we had one TV installed

and didn’t know the location of additional TVs.

I now have a second TV installed, and customer service said it would cost $99 for the second receiver because I didn’t request the additional receiver within 30 days of the initial install.

I don’t remember being told about the $99 charge or I would have ordered a second receiver in December.

Who can I talk with to get the second receiver without the $99 charge?

you cant regardless of what you were told in the beginning, techs are forbidden to install receivers without a tv present so you couldnt have ordered a second box anyways.

Sorry but you can't split your intro offer. Once you were installed and activated, you accepted the order as-is. So there is no way around the $99 charge.

Historically DirecTV has 2 weeks starting from install to do a correction order (such as if number of TVs installed was off by one). But now over a month later, it is too late. To get another box installed now would be a upgrade at the one-time lease cost (as you do not yet qualify for a free one). That is why it is $99 for a HD non-DVR receiver or Mini Genie (Client, not receiver), or $199 for an HDDVR.
