Adding a receiver

Hi, I'm replacing an old receiver with an newer one (HR44-500) that is located in my detached shop.  It had it's own dish, however the new receiver will not work with that so I thought I could run a coax cable between my shop and home and use the dish that is used in my home.  The dish is a SWM type.  I have two receivers in my home.  See the attached diagram of my configuration.

My question is, can I replace the 2 port splitter with a 4 port and attach my shop receiver on to it?

DTV only allows one Genie HR44/54 or HS17 per account so you can't activate it. The round SD only dish is obsolete.  Yes you can replace a 2way with a 4way and run a coax to the other location provided it is not more then 150'. The HR44 has Wifi built in so you don't need the WCCK.

Per your diagram you show having an HR44 and adding a 2nd. Unfortunately that is not something you can do.

DirecTV only allows one main Genie (HR34, HR44, HR54/HR54R1), Genie Lite (H44), or Genie-2 (HS17) on the account. They never got multiple to play well together so will not activate more than one on an account.

If you have the round 18" dish, that is MPEG-2/SD-only and is obsolete. Must be replaced.

Thank you Shannon02 and Juniper for your feedback.  So it looks like I'll just have to stick with the two dish arrangement and I need to replace the old dish and a get a power inserter.

Thanks again!!

The HR24 can still use a standard non SWM LNB but will need 2 BBCs.
