You need to call DirecTV to see if you have a free upgrade available. Traditionally it must be over 2 years of active service with account in good standing since your last upgrade (adding additional TV counts) or original install.

Before you call, what are the models of each box you have now? Best to get guidance first so you get the upgrade that is best for you personally or if your setup is already optimized.

As a note since it was very important to you in your previous thread (one I had participated in as well), they still are not building boxes for Caller ID.

However regular HDDVRs (HR24 and earlier) stay on the old software so Caller ID may still work on them for a while. But they are not updated to keep up with current phone line standards. So may be a way to mix and match your equipment to get all the options you want. But again depends on exact models of each box you have now on how much flexibility you have available.
