Has anyone received an update for MR DVR on an H23 yet? If so, where are you located and when did you get it? I heard H23s are the last to get updates.
With the national rollout of "Connected Home" only two days away, it sure would be nice to hear about more users than just user soundpro getting the MRV software on their H23's. I have watched, with sadness, since the end of March when my H21 got the update while all the H23 users went "what about me":0( Now, I have a "vested interest" in that I helped my son network his HD DVR and HD receiver this past weekend only to discover his HD receiver was a H23. Needless to say he was as disappointed as the rest of you H23 owners(and I as well). DirecTV needs to give the H23 users a chance to preview MRV(Networked Home, or whatever they wish to call it) BEFORE they "pull the plug" on the free BETA trial. that would only be "fair". Any H23 users West of the Mississippi with "good news"???????????
I have checked every day and I have not received the update for the H23-600 receiver, but I do have it for my HR23-700 DVR. I am located just across the river from St. Louis MO and am anxiously awaiting the final piece of the puzzle so I can give MR a try.
I already have my equipment networked via CAT5E cable straight into a Netgear router at a speed of 100MB Ful Duplex. I have the DirecTV2PC installed on my pc and it works great. Bring on the MRV!!!!!!
I'm guessing that the new H23 software release will be coincident with the 5/13 'Connected Home' rollout. I doubt that they want to be replacing a bunch of H23s during DECA/MRV upgrades. That should leave a week to experiment before the beta ends. So far the MRV software for the H23s has only been available to people in the pilot program cities.
sungam, My son & I are going to hold you to that. If he doesn't get MRV on his H23-600 on Thursday I'm gonna ask DirecTV to fire you:0) P.S. You've probably stopped holding your breath waiting for that first DirecTV paycheck right???
Just checked and I have the multi room on my H23/600! The sofware update took place at 2:26am Central Time this morning (5/11). I am just across the river from St. Louis, MO. Going to try to and set it up now through my wired network. Will keep all posted. Just finished setting it up and it is working great so far. I have both the H23/600 and HR23/700 wired to a Netgear RangeMax router with CAT5E cable and at the speed of 100MB Full Duplex. I do not have any special equipment (DECA or SWM) just my existing home network that was in place.
I received the update last night as well. My h23 isn't seeing my dvr but I haven't had a chance to reboot it yet as my family is watching tv on it right now. hopefully I can get it up in running until I'm able to sign up for the regular service.
Location: Mississippi Hardware: HR23-700 and H23-600 Software: HR23-700 (0x3a8 Wed 03/10 4:06am) / H23-600 (0x43a9 Tue 05/11 02:??am) Setup: Powernet Network (tried to cheat, but it is true, not working nicely. I tried to run "The Office" in HD took a few seconds to start, was running ok for a few seconds stopped and started lagging. Already got a CAT 5 Cable ordered and will have to run a Cable, between the two boxes)
Question: Maybe somebody can help me with this. I have seen somewhere on the forum that one of the two Network Hook up on the back of my HR23-700 is the main that should go to a Router and the other one is a "extender". Is that correct? Could I connect my H23-600 over CAT 5 to the "extender" on my HR23-700?
Thank you already for the input.
-Marc
Can't waiiiit for it to work

Just hooked it up directly across my Apartment (HR23-700 to Switch to H23-600) and "The Office" in HD is playing wonderful even fast forward no problem.
I answered this earlier but the post disappeared. The top port connects to the router and the bottom port is a pass through and can be used for daisy chaining.
May 11th(I still think TECHKNOWGUIDE sungam had something to do with it:0) in Portland, TN with some initial "lag/freezing" when fast forwarding(on a hard-wired cat5e network) that subsequently self corrected and is now working just fine.

May 11th in Houston, was a slight 10 minute delay for it to find the network DVRs, but seems to work well and no reset was required.
