C71KW-400 Bluetooth Range

What is the bluetooth range of the C71KW-400 Cable box?

If the bluetooth range needs to be extended, is there a bluetooth range extender that works well?

When pairing the remote control, it must be within 4 feet of the device. DIRECTV doesn't offer Bluetooth extenders, so we recommend contacting a third party retailer to explore options. John, DIRECTV Community Team

The standard Bluetooth range is 300' in free air, walls and environmental factors will effect the range.  Per your other post this sounds like an MDU setup that DTV has nothing to do with.

Thank You.  300'  should be fine.  I only need 45' through a couple of wood framed walls.

Are these class 1 devices then?  I've only worked with class 2 devices, which are limited to about 30'.  The documents I can find on the remote peg the power at 6.295 mW, which is in the class 2 device area.

Don't know, all I've seen is what I stated, didn't know there are different classes.  Since it appears the OP has an MDU install unknown what they supplied.

I had been using Bluetooth for years before I heard such terms as class or BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).  30' seems to be the safe range for all the headphone and earbuds I've ever had.  Never tried to use a bluetooth mouse more than 6 feet. I've had Wi-Fi remotes (Amazon FireTV devices use them), but not Bluetooth ones.

After receiving the C71KW-400 Cable box I was able to verify that the bluetooth range was at least 260 feet.  This was a path that was almost clear air.  the only obstruction was 3 layers of window glass and an open miniblind.
