Can I get Directv service without the dish being installed on my house?

Just had new roof & siding completed on my home and I don’t want a dish drilled into either.  Can Directv install a pole somewhere or maybe attach to my brick chimney with fasteners?

Sure. You can pay a bit extra for a yard pole mount. Just be sure to specify that when you place your order. They will not mount a dish to a chimney. There is also an under-eave mount that wouldn't require drilling into the roof.

@litzdog911 i believe the under-eave still requires the monopoles to be drilled into the roof in some circumstances. I could be wrong but have seen this in the past where the mast itself isn’t mounted to roof however the monopolies are to give extra strength to the top part of the mast.

They definitely won’t mount to a chimney as fasteners would easily prove weak if strong wind or a bad storm hits. The chimney mount also weakens the chimney, causing possible issues in the future.

you could always get DIRECTV stream it has the same channel lineup for the most part just as good but I like their streaming better if you get their stream box it is like their sat. box they have channel #'s on the guide and the control has numbers unlike on the other streaming devices but also if you were to get their streaming it would save you the headache so you wouldn't have to do any of that stuff to your house and you can watch on up to 20 different devices in your home and you can get 3 on the go streams

@Tiger593 thanks for the input, that is most certainly a possibility if the OP doesn’t want to deal with a dish. However, since they specifically asked for satellite and their question relates to an alternate place for the placement of the dish, that’s what I and @litzdog911 explained.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I didn’t know that a stream box was even an option.  It looks like that or a pole mount are my only options.

@Rueyroo2

Chimney mount is a no-go as techs can't go fully on roof and the additional weakening of the chimney that can happen. Unfortunately, there are some in the early days before it was forbidden who are now having issues.

Yes DIRECTV STREAM is an option. Just keep in mind it and DirecTV are two separate providers (internet streaming and satellite). They are both under the AT&T umbrella, but do not have anything to do with each other beyond that.
