Can't receive 4k resolution.

We have a Genie2 wireless server system w 3 receivers. 1080p is the highest resolution listed and my tv is a Samsung smart 4k set.

How do I get 4k to my TV from the genie?

What model Genie Mini Client boxes do you have?

Only the C61K wired Mini Genie provides 4K channels.

I have 3 wireless genies. Model

Wireless Genie Mini.

Is wired the only way to display 4k?

They transmit 4k! I should be able to!

I'll wait for devices that can, shouldn't be too long 😁!

Right. Only the wired C61K Mini Genie provides 4K video. No idea when or if DirecTV will provide a wireless 4K Mini Genie.

@Dondrums.

First you need a wired 4k mini added to your current D*tv system Also you would need to add 4k service as well.

Currently their are no wireless 4k minis.

@Dondrums

There is no wireless 4K option for DirecTV.

The only box that delivers 4K is a wired Mini Genie Client, model C61K.

Though there is no charge for 4K service, you must place a 4K order which requires tech install. TV must support HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, and 60 FPS.

Even if all 3 of your clients (they are not receivers as the Genie-2 model HS17 forbids receivers) were the C61K, only two at the same time can be using a 4K feed.

If you recently used your free upgrade to the Genie-2 (HS17), then a later upgrade to 4K Clients would be the one-time lease cost of $99 each if before your next free upgrade.
