CBS

Can someone at DirecTV tell me what is going on with Mission Broadcasting negotiations to get my CBS back on my DirecTV satellite??

It's now been about five weeks and no one I have been able to reach can tell me anything. Both Mission Broadcasating and DirecTV say the same things: 'We share your frustration' and 'We are sorry for the inconvenience'. They blame you and you blame them.

Is there any reason to think that this will be settled anytime soon?

PLEASE--Someone tell me what is going on. Or tell me I should be looking at other options to receive CBS and all other channels.

To check status on negotiations: https://www.directvpromise.com/

Simply put, carriage agreement comes up. If a new one isn't reached when the old one expires then the channel owner (CBS or a CBS affiliate) can choose to leave the channel on as a sign of good faith or remove the feed (as is their right) until negotiations complete.

TV provider doesn't want to pay increasingly higher rates (which in turn raises our bills) and the channel owner feels they should be paid more. My stance is why should we (the customer) pay more for locals we can get free over the regular airways? I suggest plugging in a regular antenna to get the free broadcast in the meantime. Might even get other channels in range (such as sub-channels that DirecTV doesn't carry).

Changing providers won't help. They all suffer from this.
