Change default input to HDMI 3

We have our Directv box connected to HDMI 3 because the connection has more capabilities. The picture is not as good on HDMI 1. When we turn the TV off, we are on HDMI 3. When we turn it on, the box changes to HDMI 1 (where there is no signal) and says THAT is Directv. It is nothing and we have to change to HDMI 3 every time. It is very annoying.

How do we make HDMI 3 the default at start up?

Some TVs have a way to set the default HDMI input.  DTV has no control over it.

You have to set that in your TV. Your Direct TV Box is not doing anything. And why would you use an input where the picture is worse?

Thanks - that makes sense and I'll look into that. Appreciate the help.

Yes, HDMI 3 and 4 are 2.1 and we use them for Directv and Roku. Inputs HDMI 1 and 2 are 2.0 (which we aren't using)

DirecTV only needs HDMI 2.0 (or higher) for the C61K if you have a 4K setup.

If you don't have that exact box, then there shouldn't be any picture difference between HDMI ports unless something is really wonky with that TV.
