Changing to an HD receiver for the camper isn’t working

We were forced to go to an HD receiver in the camper and can’t get the satellite to work.  Had 3 Techs here last week with several calls and nothing.  They won’t help us connect the satellite.  Can’t get a signal.

Right, as DTV doesn't install in mobile vehicles.  We need to know what the DTV receiver's model number and what dish the camper has round don't work.

We were told the round dish would work until the end of the year. Set up was right per another call to DTV still no signal.

The MPEG-2 (SD only) shutdown started April 2019. It is rolling out across the country. It is possible within the next year that they will have completed the shutdown, but some areas are already affected. So it is highly recommended to replace the dish setup sooner than later before it becomes a problem (if it isn't already the cause).

But just in case you are using the RV where it is not shutdown yet, what error message or such are you getting when you boot up your setup?

So what are the recommendations for Dishes that will work with DTV and and HD receiver?

The Wingard Trav'ler is for auto aiming. Alternatively you can get a normal slimline dish (like you would use at home) and have on a sled mount or tripod, just have to manually aim.

Seems retailers are focusing on clearing out stock of older dishes that for DirecTV only use MPEG-2 (since they can still be used as the shutdown isn't 100% complete), so not a lot of information for MPEG-4 dishes from them at this time.

So does DTV sell and install them on RV’s? Or is it self install? Where we are most frustrated is we were forced to change and no they won’t help us regain our service. 3 Techs in a week is a little much to fit into our busy lives.

Nope, you have to go to an RV dealer that installs DTV.  KVH also has HD dishes.
