Channel Insertion
Hello, I own several rental properties with DirecTV services. I would like to do 2 things:
1) Set the service to always start at the same channel whenever the STB is turned on, and
2) Inject a static sign on that channel with a welcome message.
The simple objective is to have the Welcome sign appear whenever the guest starts watching TV.
Is this possible?

Sorry no. The boxes work as DirecTV designed them, not allowing users to override with their own welcome screen or forced startup options.

You would need a fancy master TV distribution system, like the ones used by hotels. DirecTV doesn't provide those.

They have them, but they are expensive and not worth it for smaller businesses. I am a little surprised that you cannot configure a "home" channel upon start up. I do have a business account, by the way; not that it makes any difference. Here is an article that talks a little about doing this:

Other providers may have the option, but DirecTV (satellite) has no way to configure a home channel. You cannot inject anything into their box. Individual users cannot be forced to some other channel. You would have to use a distribution system like mentioned above.
What you want is not a DirecTV option, sorry.
