Channels are pixelating on HR-54 and error 771 on HR-24
I have been having issues with pixelating on my local channels. Resetting the HR-54 seemed to fix it, but then I would have an issue again. At one point, I called DirecTV, and they did something on their end, which seemed to help. Today more than just local channels were pixelating, even HBO and others were. Resetting the HR-54 and HR-24 did not help this time. I hadn’t checked on my HR-24’s until today, but today it shows error 771 on the same channels that are pixelating on my HR-54. Some channels are ok, like Food Network. I did satellite signal testing on my HR-54 that I have listed the results below. I have tested before and have previous results to compare to when the pixelation had gone away. The results on the left side are the current ones with bad picture; the right side when it was good.

I noticed that the zeros seem to be alternating. I am thinking that the previous issues with pixelation on the local channels may have progressed into my current situation. I don’t see any obvious branches directly in front of the satellite. In the distance, I have some trees. How should I go about trying to figure out if it is my satellite alignment, LNB, SWM, or something else? What should I check before I get a service call?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Note how you're missing every other transponder on some of these satellites. The first thing to check is for loose or corroded coax cable connectors at the dish, ground block, and Single Wire Multiswitch (if you have one). Does your satellite dish have one coax cable or four?

Dishpointer.com can tell you what if anything could be blocking the signal, you select multi LNB setup then DTV SL3 then add your address.
You are missing transponders, 103ca is missing entirely, spot beams (s) are to low. 103cb is to low.
Your 101 is great.

I tried going to dishpointer.com. It doesn’t seem to be working. I used the locator button to get my coordinates and used the dropped down menu to find under multi-LNB setups directv SL3 (99W, 101W, 103W) and then 3LNB (101W, 110W, 119W) and then 5LNB (99, 101, 103, 110, 119W). When I hit Search, it shows Oops! Something went wrong. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
I did notice that the zeros were alternating. Does that shed light onto my problem?
I will try to look at connections tomorrow. The satellite is up on my roof, but I’ll see how many cables there are
Thanks.

They have HR54 (Genie) which requires SWM.
Hopefully a simple DIY (dish alignment, tighten a cable connection, or replace a cable segment, etc.) will take care of this. Current cost of a service call is $99, if it gets to that point.
(as a note, do not replace HR24s with Mini Genie Clients if ever offered or would be a downgrade)

They could have a SWM8 or 16 that uses four coaxes from the dish with a standard LNB.

I took a look outside but am not sure what I’m looking at. I have a LNB 3D2LNBR0-02 attached to my dish. There’s one coaxial cable attached to it and is then attached to a
MSPLIT8R1-03. I didn’t see anything obvious with the coaxial cable connections.

Check that coax cable connection from the dish to the SWM Splitter (MSPLIT8R1-03), and the connectors feeding from the splitter to your boxes. Make sure they're dry, snug and corrosion-free.

I think the issue is the connection from the coaxial cable from the satellite to the splitter is bad. It looks corroded. I’m having directv come and take a look next week. Do you think that could have caused some signal loss to the local channels and now has gotten worse where more channels are being affected? I have the basic protection plan with directv, so I’m hoping they can take care of things.
Thank you for everyone’s input.

Most likely, the tech should align the dish if needed. The protection plan covers the $99 service call fee, so with or without it the techs will fix any problems.
