Direct TV Box without HDMI

I have a brand new sony 65 in tv. I also have direct tv. And the box does not have an HDMI output. I have the regular stereo yellow, red and white cables, which is the only way to hook in to the tv. Other than the cable itself. Anyway, it is all hooked up and the tv is very blurry and zoomed in. I have followed all the steps to get both the box and the tv out of wide mode but nothing has worked. I am showing 60% signal strength. Is that the problem?

You are using a 480i SD output on an HD TV. You need to upgrade your receiver and most likely the dish to HD for free using the DTV swap offer as DTV is shutting down the MPEG2 channels that those SD only receives use.

If your box doesn't have an HDMI output at all then it is very outdated and is required to be replaced. DirecTV has been shutting down their MPEG-2/SD-only feeds. As such they have a MPEG swap program.

To be sure, what are the models of every box you have? That will verify what (if anything) must be replaced.
