direct tv equipment return
i followed instructions to a T when i got the return box for equipment. Because a fed ex /ups store is more than 30 miles a way i was told by a representative to take the box to my local fed ex / ups drop off here. according to the manager of drop off store the direct tv return equipment box was picked up and delivered to Fed c/ Ups store 30 miles away.
I did same exact thing with my att uverse
equipment ( senate box).
Att received return box( i have confirmation.)
Direct TV has not and wants to charge me $143.
If i had the tracking # that was on the direct tv return box the man at drop off place could scan it and see where it is-- but i don't!!
I just naively took it there as i was told.
Please help! I have called Direct TV a few times about this but so far no help.
I would not be contacting you if i hadn't returned it.
Ty for your time! Please advise

If a participating shipping location is over 10 miles away then DirecTV should have sent you a return kit (the old return process). Did you get receipt showing that the shipping center took possession of your equipment? The concern is the box info must be inputted at the correct shipping location, and if your local center isn't part of the return program it may not be tracked correctly.
If you have receipt with the serial number/receiver ID (RID) of the boxes, I would call the shipping center they were supposedly sent to verify they actually have them logged in. If they do, then call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 to discuss the non-return fee (NRF). Otherwise you will have to deal with the individual you gave the boxes to.
