DirectTV Satellite for Tailgating at Football Games
I’m looking for a satellite dish for my direct tv to use at football game tailgates to watch the game on the tv at the tailgate. I called DirectTV customer service & they said they don’t have any recommendations. I can use my Roku stick if I have internet access but at most games, internet is spotty at best with so many people in an around the stadium. Any suggestions for $500 or less? Thanks.

You need a SWM slimline dish on a tripod/sled mount or spend big to get a mounted Winegard Travler or KVH HD11.

First of all you must have a MPEG-4 box. That is and H or HR model (or the special R22 if you have one of those others).
Need a slimline SWM dish on a tripod/sled mount or the Winegard Trav'ler. (anything else like the dome are legacy as DirecTV is shutting down their MPEG-2 feeds). I would check Solid Signal for a dish with manual aiming. Though Trav'ler is roof-mounted with auto-aiming, it is well above your stated price range.
Hopefully you don't have the HS17 as that is not mobile friendly.

Slimline HD dish on a tripod is about your only alternative.
