Directv and internet
Hello, I would like to know as to what it would cost me to have a new line for the directv and internet line to be installed at the same address but to a extra bedroom? And to keep the remaining internet and directv lines where they are now.
Thank's.

You need to ask your ISP about the internet but unless you have an upgrade coming DTV will charge $99 for the tech call and depending on the receiver you order $99 for a mini/HXX receiver or $199 for a DVR.

Relocation is not free. Adding another TV for DirecTV is not relocating anyway but adding. Though DirecTV is owned by AT&T, it has its own costs and policies separate from AT&T services. So any equipment plan on AT&T does not apply to DirecTV.
Additional TV per month is $7. However to make sure you get the right equipment for your setup, what are the models of each box you have now? Want to make sure you get what is optimal for your personal setup.
Yes the 1-800-531-5000 is the correct number as it is DirecTV customer support. Depends on what you need on which department you are routed to. If your Internet is through AT&T, then you call AT&T's normal customer support number 1-800-288-2020. DirecTV and your internet are separate entities with the same parent owner.

I would suggest for any questions on AT&T Internet equipment and service to post a separate thread in that forum. Just to avoid confusion on if you are talking about internet or DirecTV, such as "additional line" means something different for both services. But yes the modem/router combo unit is "plug and play" as you take it to any working outlet, that is not pre-filtered of course to only allow phone service.
With DirecTV the $7 is the additional line/TV/box, however you want to word it, for the monthly service. Sounds like you qualify for a free upgrade so there is no cost for the order itself, so just the monthly fee for one more TV total.
There is not one flat DirecTV upgrade. Depends on what boxes you have now on what would be best for an additional TV. Some agents are a little overzealous and don't suggest the best box for you, or worse suggest replacing more boxes than needed resulting in a downgrade of service compared to the prior setup. So if we knew the model numbers, then experienced customers could provide guidance. Comes down to many AT&T agents (not legacy from DirecTV before the acquisition) are not familiar with all the ins and outs, especially if it is not the absolute newest (though certainly far from greatest) model.

If you have only had DirecTV for about 4 months then there is concern with what the agent told you.
Yes it is $7 monthly for each additional TV.
Intro offer normally covers up to 4 TVs as far as equipment goes (Genie and 3 Mini Genie Clients).
However, Intro offer is a one-time deal, so later orders are not covered by the intro offer.
Not only should you get the one-time lease cost for each additional box you get, but within the 1st 6 months there is a "upgrade" fee on top of the order.
If you chose to place the order, make sure to read the order confirmation they email you. Do not have equipment installed until you have read through this as this is what you are accepting, regardless of what the agent said.
Remember all upgrades, regardless of any cost, come with a 24 month agreement. Good thing is that it goes from day it is installed, not tacking onto the end of the current service agreement.

But they don't add new cables to unserved rooms for free. Call DirecTV to get a specific price .... 1 800 531 5000

I know that and it wouldn't be new cables, it's just relocating lines that I have now and also there's no charge for relocation lines and possibly the satelite. I have a premier account at At&t. And the number you had posted isn't for relocating lines etc, that's just for paying the bill/s etc. I called them.

Yes! I do know the information you had provided, but from what I was told on the phone when I had talked with At&t that would be no charge for an additional Directv line at the same address. Reason being is that I was also told by phone and I had asked the installer technician that I do have a premium account through At&t but then again if it was a new install there would be a charge for it but this wasn't a new install it was just adding another line in my home. And I do know also that there is a $7.00 charge each month for the additional line. Which is fine.
Thank's for the information.

As a matter affect that I wasn't charged for any additional lines that was at my home address. Now if it had happened to be at a new address and the line would be considered as a new line or any additional lines. That there would be a charge for it but that's not the case here. And as far as the At&t internet goes I can move the At&t router/modem to any part of my home without the help of At&t doing so. Being that the router/modem I have now is not hardwire line. It's a plug and go line if that makes since? And also it's just a reguler router that I have now. Not one that's expensive.

Ok thank you for being honest with me on the Directv and yes I do totally agree on the upgrade of router/modem the router/modem that I have now is not the best quality but it does a good job for what I'am paying for. And you're correct also on the $7 charge for additional Directv line in any part of a home. And also the on the internet would you happen to know the name of the forum for At&t internet forum or is it through this same type of forum as to what I'm on now?
Thank you.

No worries. I know it gets confusing when it is all under the AT&T umbrella now. So internet, wireless (cell phone), DirecTV, U-Verse, are all in this forum just each in their own category. If you have an questions or such about the DirecTV side of it, don't hesitate to post anything else you need. We will help where we can.
Hope those on the internet side can give you the guidance there. Though I have some good info with internet over the years, my knowledge may not cover some of the quirks of AT&T's internet service so don't want to steer you wrong.
