DIRECTV New Home Wiring Diagram

New home construction.  Need a wiring diagram for cabling.

Currently have Coax running from central closet (hub) to outside of house.  From the closet to each room I’ve run Cat6 and Coax to outlets for wall mounted TVs.

In my current residence (where I’m living during construction), I have one HR44 and 2 genies.

My main question is:  Will the SWM mount in my hub closet and connect to each of the rooms using a splitter(s)?  Don’t care to run wireless (but will in a pinch).  Reason:  walls are foam insulated and I’m not sure if signal strength will be adequate.

Plans are to mount Genies behind wall mounted TVs connected by HDMI.  For my HR44 (big footprint device), can I mount that behind a TV?  Worst case, I can run coax to floor outlet.  From that outlet run HDMI from HR44 to TV.  All inside the wall.

Any help appreciated.

Your plan looks good. Be sure to provide a power outlet in the wiring closet for the SWM power supply.

How many TVs are you planning? Realize that the HR44/HR54 Genie DVRs only support up to three Mini Genie's simultaneously.

I would not recommend trying to wall mount the HR44 Genie DVR.

Just some clarification if you have equipment questions in the future.

I have one HR44 and 2 genies.

That would be one Genie and 2 Mini Genie Clients.

The HR44 (2nd generation model) is your Genie receiver (only 1 Genie/Genie Lite/Genie-2 allowed per account).

The other two, if their model numbers start with 'C' (i.e. C31), are Mini Genie Clients.

Mini Genie Clients were designed to be 'hidden', such as mounting behind the TV. However the main Genie was not, as neither were other HDDVR/receivers.
