Upon install it becomes part of the property. If you want it removed you will need to do so yourself or hire someone to do it. If on the roof it is suggested to leave mounting plate to avoid leaks.
Otherwise you can just leave it up there and if someone in the future wants DirecTV it minimizes the work that needs to be done (assuming it is not a legacy MPEG-2 dish).
