Because you own it.

@misshdz

First of all your contract ending doesn't cancel the service. The contract just means that if you choose to call and cancel, there is no early cancellation fee (ECF).

Secondly, there is no option for removal because you own the dish. Once installed everything but the receiver/client boxes are yours to do with what you wish. DirecTV will not send someone out to uninstall any equipment (owned by you or not). Any receiver/client boxes that are still returnable models you ship back.

just like they charge installation fees to set the dish up, they should offer a service to remove it.
When you have a property for rent, tenants don’t take the dish with them; leaving the landlord with responsibility to remove etc.

DTV been around for 30 years and haven't removed one yet, they are not about to except liability for customers roofs.

The receiving dish has been customer owned since DirecTV launched in '94. This is normal for satellite companies. Having the dish already there means that someone can reactivate service, move into the home with existing service, or start service that much easier. Plus they will not accept liability for such a removal.

Sorry, but they are not obligated to offers such a service as you want. So should they offer that, the answer is no. If you should read Terms of Service before install, hmm...well what do you think?
